I don't believe the chart is thrown out. The chart gets thrown out for emergencies like hurricanes, blizzards, or other things but not holiday events. Its just overtime.

Don't know. Active Mos with Times Square detail. Take necessary precautions obviously for safety and prevention of frostbite. My first detail in 82-83 I was in Times Square in similar weather predicted for this new year's eve. It was a miserable night. Once you lose your feet to the cold, you are done. After that experience I bought hunting socks and learned to take longer breaks. Stay safe.

It’s funny. I just threw out my old helmet bag and found a stash of winter gloves, hand warmers, socks, etc, all brand new. Every Times Square detail I stacked up on the winter apparel then folded them and put them at the bottom of the bag. For the most part I think the rank and file come appropriately dressed for the frigid temperatures. It’s the idiotic revelers that don’t come prepared for the extreme weather. Friends and neighbors always ask me about the ball drop and invite me to be their tour guide and accompany them. Every year I respond with this, “For 2/3’s of my 20 year career I spent New Year’s in Time Square away from family. What the hell makes you think I want to go their on my own time now that I’m retired?”
On that note, Happy New Year to all in attendance here. If you need me at the stroke of 12 on New Year’s Eve, I’ll be in bed on my 5th dream.

Yep...its going to be a frigid one. After the ball drops and the crowd clears, watch how many bottles of golden sunshine gets left behind.

It's going to be a brutal one for all On Duty MOS in Times Square. Don't miss the cold or the azzhole bosses at the Detail. Good luck and stay safe lads and lasses!

Bad night to be on the Apple boys and girls, take just a second and think before you respond, you’re not as good when the wind chill goes into negative numbers. If your in a sector backup each other more than usual. Remember the first mission is to make EOT in the same condition you started, then to home and unwind. Leave the drinking to the amateurs, it’s their night. KEEP SAFE . End of lesson.
