A Queens police officer and former Marine whose 8-year-old son drowned on the Fourth of July killed himself yesterday morning, sources said.
Ronald Coy, whose boy, Justin, fell into the deep end of a relative's pool in Flushing, was found by his wife and daughter at around 5 a.m. with a bullet wound to the head inside their Ridgewood home, the sources said.
"He was a good guy, he was well liked, but he became very depressed after what happened," said one cop who knew him.
Coy joined the NYPD in January 2007 and was assigned to the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn before being transferred to the 106th Precinct in Queens.
