:(Don't care if he's gay, just wanna look at him and watch him clean the house. What can I say, I'm simple. By the way, my birthday is January 31st. That gives you all plenty of time to chip in.....

Oh, so you have all of your teeth, and don't shop at Thruway? I remember the first time I found Thruway and took a stroll in there. Scared me that places like that existed so close to the city. Then I found the appliances in the back and got the best deals on most of my appliances.

NYCCO Not that close to the city, a world away. Don't eat the food in there. I am convinced it's the mother ship and if you eat the food, they make you one of them.

It always bothered me to hear city people move to more rural areas, obviously because of all of the benefits of living there, and then make fun of the people who actually are from there...

The nearby hamlet I live in is honestly very well known for it's supposed extra-terrestrial activity. In fact I've heard it described as the Area 51 of the East Coast.

Airborne,
Walden (the village) has a reputation of being the biggest trailer park in the world. It's not exactly the taj mahal. However, up here if you live in the town, your mailing address is from the village. The town of Montgomery is a very nice place, middle to upper middle class. Unfortunately, like parts of the city, the nicer parts are surrounded by rot. I am sure that there are neighborhoods in NYC that because of the demographics have been the butt of jokes. This is no different.

I have a friend who moved just outside of Middletown very earlier in the migration, near or just over 20 years ago now. About two years ago he was telling me how a bunch of people from Brooklyn who bought houses around him had all been showing up at town meetings demanding sidewalks be put in. Sounds simple, but this is not the way of life up there, and it never was.
I just don't understand moving someplace because of what it is, and then wanting to change it to the crap where you came from. I bet Newburgh is really happy with all their transplants...
When I get out of here, if I do, its to get out of here, not bring here with me someplace else...
