I don't see how anybody could give a $500,000 mortgage to some guy who changes flat tires in the Bronx and goes to work when he feels like it, because he is poor and has lousy credit.

How could anybody not think that this fiscal attitude would eventually lead to big problems?

Owning a house is not an inalienable right. If you can't afford it, you don't get it.
