WE HAVE A WINNER!
Well done BT
And when I drive down from the Rockies past Colorado Springs, Colorado and pass Pikes Peak, I drive south to New Mexico and head east. Capulin Volcano just sticks up out of nowhere and is on the left on my long and favorite road trip. I head down to Amarillo and get the biggest damn steak I can find.
It's a great road trip to come down from the Mt's and slowly down through the plains. Makes you realize just how amazingly beautiful our country is.
And just to add to the road trip I crank up this song while I head down. (LER special effects)

George Strait concerts are the greatest.
Makes you feel real American.
And if you check out his back-up singer, Marty Slayton she is a real looker too.
Nice as can be and will stop and talk to you after the show.
Hell, Ive had coffee with her.

okay, here's a hint. It's across the square from this place, where if you're not in the mood for seafood, you can get a mean cheeseburger and a frosty margarita...

Now Ladies and gentleman and children of all ages....
If you have been keeping up with this thread and saw that George Strait was mentioned on the last page..
In a very odd coincidence OR by some alignment of Jupiter and Mars....
That very studio was used to make GEORGE STRAITS last album, Troubadour.
Now is that spooky or is it Halloween week?
Who knows....
March 28, 2008 - George Strait won the Country Music Association's Album of the Year with his last release, "It Just Comes Natural," and the next one might fare just as well. Titled "Troubadour," the CD comes out Tuesday with special guest vocal appearances by Patty Loveless, Vince Gill and Dean Dillon, who's written more than a dozen of George's hits.
The first single from the album, "I Saw God Today," is already doing well. It debuted at No. 19, higher than any song George has released in his career, and it's currently in the Top 5 on Billboard country singles list.
"It's a great record to start out with," George says. "Anyone who has had a kid can relate to seeing them for the first time and know that it is really and truly a gift from God."
George recorded the album at Jimmy Buffett's Shrimpboat studio in Key West, where he also cut It Just Comes Natural. It's a converted shrimp storage cooler at the water's edge, where shrimpers used to drop the day's catch when they worked. It's a tiny place to hold a session, but that also helped breed the friendship among George, the technical crew and the studio musicians, who he refers to as the Critters.
"We were all havin' fun, which I think shows in the tracks," producer Tony Brown says. "In the beginning, we went to Shrimpboat on a whim. This time we went back because the last album turned out so awesome. I have a funny feelin' we'll be goin' back again."

That would be the Block Island Lighthouse I remember when they moved it. Block Island is a 7,000 acre island, about seven miles long and three miles across at its widest point, located 12 miles from Long Island and about the same distance from Charlestown, Rhode Island. The island is surrounded by dangerous shoals and ledges, and was sometimes called the "stumbling block" of the New England coast. Dozens of vessels went down near here in the years before the lighthouse authorities decided to build two lighthouses on the island: the North Light in 1829 and the Southeast Light in 1875. In 1856, Congress appropriated $9,000 for the building of a lighthouse at the southeast shore of Block Island. The Lighthouse Board decided instead to use the money to rebuild the existing lighthouse at the northern tip of the island, and the building of the Southeast Light was put off indefinitely.
