great idea. judging by the shit they let in, the dept that handles immigration has to be overhauled or better, just abolish it. Facebook, Google and the rest of them will just have to find Americans for their high paying jobs instead of importing hundreds of Indians.

The hard left does not like the idea of sovereignty (self-determination of a nation).
They don't like the idea that you can have a place that is BY DEFINITION off-limits to their globalist and socialist control mechanisms.
They hate that!

This unprecedented calculated move during this period of time along with an oil crash, is probably suppressing the pent up demand to do business in the US the way a pressure cooker works. Release the over pressured economy at the right time just as the Chi-Na virus subsides and the market has no where to go but straight up. uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/coronavirus-european-markets-oil-trump-claims-suspends-us-immigration-074552569.htmlUS president Donald Trump’s claim that he will temporarily suspend immigration to America, combined with a record-breaking fall in oil prices, pushed European stocks lower on Tuesday. Trump said late on Monday that he would sign an executive order to prevent people coming to the US to live and work during the coronavirus crisis. It is unclear what mechanism he would use to do so and how long the suspension would last. His claim came after a collapse in oil prices, with the price of a barrel of the benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude falling below zero for the first time on Monday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index (^STOXX) was down by around 1.6%. London’s FTSE 100 (^FTSE) fell by more than 2%, even after better-than-expected UK jobs data. Read more: UK unemployment rose just as coronavirus hit Germany’s DAX (^GDAXI) also declined by around 2%, as did France’s CAC 40 (^FCHI). “The record-breaking dive in US oil prices created a foul atmosphere at the open, while the latest UK jobs report threw up some surprises,” said Connor Campbell, a financial analyst at Spreadex. “Acting as another reminder of the economic abyss the world is facing, Europe almost had no choice but to fall at Tuesday’s open, especially when the oil news is combined with the increasingly erratic situation over in the US.” “In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens,” Trump wrote on Twitter, “I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!” West Texas Intermediate rebounded on Monday, with crude oil futures for May (CL=F), contracts for which are due to expire later on Tuesday, climbing to $0.10 from record negative territory. Brent crude (BZ=F) fell by 9.8% to $23.06. Read more: US oil prices rebound after turning negative for the first time in history The losses in Europe followed a weak trading session Asia. China’s SSE Composite Index (^SSEC) fell by 0.9% on Tuesday, while the Hang Seng (^HSI) was down by more than 2.1% in Hong Kong at market close. Japan’s Nikkei (^N225) declined by almost 2%, while the KOSPI Composite Index (^KOSPI) in South Korea closed 1% in the red. Futures were also pointing to a lower open for US stocks on Tuesday. S&P 500 futures (ES=F) fell by around 0.8%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures (YM=F) were down by 1.1%, while Nasdaq futures (NQ=F) were down by almost 0.5%.

NYT Says Trump’s Immigration Suspension Includes Visa WorkersA pedestrian crossing from Mexico into the United States at the Otay Mesa port of entry has his facial features and eyes scanned at a biometric kiosk Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, in San Diego. President Donald Trump’s temporary suspension of the immigrant inflow includes the routine inflow of non-immigrant visa workers, according to the New York Times. “A formal order temporarily barring the provision of new green cards and work visas could come as early as the next few days, according to several people familiar with the plan,” said the NYT report, posted early Tuesday morning. The report continued: Under such an executive order, the Trump administration would no longer approve any applications from foreigners to live and work in the United States for an undetermined period of time, effectively shutting down the legal immigration system in the same way the president has long advocated closing the borders to illegal immigration.
… Workers who have for years received visas to perform specialized jobs in the United States would also be denied permission to arrive, though some workers in some industries deemed critical could be exempted from the ban, the people familiar with the president’s discussion said. In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States! — Donald J. Trump (@realdonaldtrump) April 21, 2020 The plan is likely to exempt the roughly 4,000 foreign doctors who are scheduled to arrive by June via the J-1 visa program, plus the large blocs of 200,000+ H-2A farmworkers who are already scheduled for myriad farm tasks, and some family reunifications. But the suspension likely will cover the many college starter-level jobs held by many Indian and Chinese graduates in the H-1B program. The suspension of the H-1B program would block the agency processing of the roughly 100,000 new H-1B workers who are expected to take U.S. jobs after October 1. But many more H-1B jobs could be opened to U.S. graduates if the government does not help U.S. and Indian companies keep their laid-off H-1B workers in the United States. Roughly 900,000 foreigners hold U.S. jobs through the H-1B program. Many are being laid-off from their outsourcing jobs in the economic crash. Under federal law, any laid-off H-1Bs must go home in 60 days unless the Labor Department helps U.S. and Indian companies rewrite the rubber-stamped “Labor Condition Application” documents which fix the workers’ work locations, hours and wages. Similarly, the immigration suspension may also hit the Occupational Practical Training program, which is already stalled because the work-permit requests are stalled by agency closures. Roughly 200,000 foreign graduates get jobs via the OPT program each, including many thousands of jobs at elite U.S. companies, such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Intel. Many other white collar visa programs could be stalled by the suspension, including the L-1 program for company transfers, and the B-1 visa to allow foreign workers to visit but not work. The suspension may also hit the “Curricular Practical Training” program that allows foreign students to hold full-time jobs. Nationwide, U.S. companies employ roughly 1.5 million foreign contract workers in white collar jobs sought by U.S. graduates. In 2019, U.S. companies also employed at least one million foreign workers in blue collar jobs. This ‘work permit workforce’ includes at least 200,000 H-2A farmworkers, at least 100,000 H-2B laborers, roughly 500,000 people who got work permits via 2020 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals amnesty plus hundreds of thousands of asylum applicants and green card applicants. The visa workers and work permit workers are legal workers with a limited set of legal and workplace rights. They have a legal status somewhere between the one million legal immigrants who arrive each year, and the semi-hidden population of at least eight million illegal migrants with jobs. The Trump plan is likely popular among the people who will vote in 2020. Breitbart News reported April 13: A newly released Ipsos poll finds Americans are almost totally unified in their support for pausing immigration in the midst of the coronavirus crisis and mass unemployment. Overall, about 79 percent of American adults said they want immigration temporarily paused to the U.S. — a policy far beyond just the travel bans that have been implemented on Chinese, Iranian, and European travel to the country by President Trump’s administration. Many opinions polls have shown the public strongly objects to companies hiring foreign workers before American employees. For example, an August 2017 poll reported that 68 percent of Americans oppose companies’ use of H-1Bs to outsource U.S.-based jobs that could be held by Americans. DoJ/EEOC do nothing as US & Indian execs trade US jobs to Indian #H1B workers, cutting Americans out of careers, homes & families. This trade choked innovation in Silicon-V, slammed insurance & banking. #SenMikeLee & #S386 will expand it to healthcare t.co/qoENwyO6X7 — Neil Munro (@neilmunrodc) March 9, 2020

Facebook, Google and the rest of them will just have to find Americans for their high paying jobs instead of importing hundreds of Indians. The State Dept, at a Foreign Embassy, is where all Visa Applications start. An Embassy worker interviews the foreign applicant, and then makes a determination, to see if the foreigner coming to the USA, is eligible under what ever Visa rule the foreigner is applying under.

Right. And is there a single agency in the US government that is more full of deep staters and globalists than the State Dept? They almost always support foreign governemts in any dispute with the US. They are mostly a bunch of over-educated America-haters. Just look at the scum who recently testified in the Ukraine hearings.

State put out a blurb, that no doubt caught Trump's attention, that Embassies and Consulates overseas were to do Visa applications online rather than in person. ripe for fraud and osamaobama manipulation to allow nefarious types in. well, that ain't gonna happen now.

When you look at what the head of the WHO said about “seeing more body bags” when funding cut was threatened by Trump and now saying the “worst is yet to come” I wonder if there is another virus to come now that this is dying out?
WHO chief: Worst of coronavirus pandemic still ahead
The director of the World Health Organization (WHO) warned Monday that the worst of the coronavirus pandemic is still ahead.
"Trust us. The worst is yet ahead of us," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a briefing."Let's prevent this tragedy. It's a virus that many people still don't understand."
The pandemic globally had infected nearly 2.5 million people and killed more than 167,000, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Tedros's comments come as President Trump has ordered the halt of funding to WHO, citing missteps in how the organization dealt with the pandemic. The move is supported by some conservatives but was met with blowback from others, including business groups and Democrats.

I think Tedros is a Chinese shrill, only repeating what China cannot say in public.
If the worst is yet to come, why doesn't he just release the facts he seems to be the only one to know?
Because he is trying to extort money from the US taxpayer.
