Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Monday that all June events have been called off, just days after he canceled all non-essential permitted events in April and May. “It’s not a happy announcement, but it’s one we have to make,” de Blasio said Monday, as he announced that all parades, concerts, rallies, marathons, festivals, and other large gatherings that do not allow for social distancing will be canceled until at least July. The Puerto Rican Day Parade was scheduled for June 14 and NYC Pride March was supposed to be held on the 28th

What a shame. But never count them out. I bet they will have some sort of celebration that day. Look for a mad rush at Orchard Beach.
Another shame is that the PR parade was once a culturally rich parade with some of the greatest musical artists of the day. It wasnt a free for all grope fest. Now, its competing very closely to the Savage day parade. People have lost their moral compass and their strong sense of community. Its one of the parades I hated most, because it was an embarrassment.

Agree Dusty. They will just have some sort of parade wherever they want. When has no permit stopped any of these clowns from doing anything?

It indeed was....until it ceased being about Puerto Rico and instead became a free fire zone with Dominicans, Mexicans, El Slave-A-Dorians, Nicaraguans and just garden variety mutts seizing it and turning it into a disaster area. Only thing it is good for now is watching the liberal UES turds panic when they see "those people" coming at them and, yes, as Blue Trumpet correctly pointed out, an overtime generator for retiring MOS. They go to the Hamptons for the weekend, board up storefronts on Fifth Avenue in the 50s and make believe it isn't there. That parade has been a mess for years. It was officially dead when they named that FALN Terrorist who Osama Bin Obama released from prison as Grand Marshal or some similar honor. FALN is the same organization that bombed 1PP in the 1970s resulting in the maiming of two MOS bomb techs, IIRC. It was so offensive to mainstream Puerto Ricans that even Goya Foods, a long time sponsor, pulled out. For what it is worth, I now buy Goya products when I am in the market for their wares, I did appreciate that move.

a better idea would be to schedule all the 'celebrations', gay pride march, Jamaica fest and PR parade, on the same day on Randalls Island - and then drop a good-sized bomb on it. Plus there would no one left to take to the street in protest.

Don't worry folks September is a long way off. The savage day parade will go on as usual.
