For the past few years I have owed the IRS money after completing the yearly returns. Even though the money was transferred directly from my checking account to the IRS, they are depositing checks to those who had a direct deposit refund. I had to go here www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments, to register my checking account to receive the check. I did this today.

I tried logging into that this morning and kept saying it didn’t recognize me. Now it blocked me for 24 hours (too many attempts)

Good catch. Apparently even if the IRS has your bank info from prior direct deposit refunds, if instead you paid taxes in 2018 you must resubmit your bank info.

19, were you in the same situation as me? You registered on the IRS website and you got your check the next day?

I pay every year so the IRS does not have my bank account numbers for direct deposit. Went to the web site irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments and I have been trying for the last 2 hours trying to enter the numbers for direct deposit. Can't get to the page that takes the numbers. Any help out there?

I file electronically also and I always owe. I haven't seen a refund in years. I pay the bill by having them debit my bank account. I also collect Social Security and that's direct deposited into that same account. One way or another, they should have my info but I haven't heard a thing.
To check on what info they have on you, you must access their site. The big problem is that you need an IRS Pin # to access the site. You get that pin when you have a fraud problem with your tax return or you can alternately get it by registering at another IRS site. The only problem is that like all Government websites, it's broken. They do ,at least, warn you in advance that they're having problems. My guess is that they're using Obama Era holdovers to write the computer programs for this System. It will only let you get so far and then it breaks. The first time it allowed me to enter my name, address, SSAN, a credit card in my name, email etc and let me get as far as entering my cell phone number so they could send me a text to verify my identity. It then it told me the number was not listed in my name (it is) and they rejected me. I had to go back to the beginning and start over. I tried again with another phone number I have but then I got a message saying that due to the Covid Virus there was no one available to verify the number and I had to start over. I tried one more time and this time I was told that there was a discrepancy in my address (there wasn't). I was then told that I had failed three times and that I had been locked out of the system for 24 hours. God Bless America. I'm going to give up and wait to see if they send me a check. Thank God I'm not desperate for the money. I pity those who are.

I’m in the same situation as you, it’s been a while since I had a federal refund. I just assumed they would use the same banking information that payments were made to. Is there an option to add bank account info on the same page as the “get my payment” link? All I get there is from that link is “payment status not available “

This is why I did not get a Stimulus Check...
I thought it was because you exceeded the PayScale.
