Saw a video on FB from the NYS Police, saying that everyone with a Carry Permit issued in NYS, other than Nassau, Suffolk, NYC, and Westchester has to fill out a recertification form with Albany. If you were issued a Pistol Permit before January 15 2013, you have to fill out the form. It sounds to me like this is a database that NYS is compiling of permit holders. And it does not matter what the expiration date on your permit says. You have to fill out the form regardless. You can view the form on NYS Troopers/Gov.Anyone have any further info ?
