The point I was trying to make was that in 1620, the English were so intolerant of other religions that a group of people were willing to face, what most of them probably thought was, certain death by trying to cross the ocean to get away. We're not talking about first-class seats on the Concorde. These people still believed in sea monsters and witches.
Here we are, almost 400 years later, and the British are allowing themselves to be insulted, degraded, killed and their culture erased by a barbaric group of religious zealots straight out of the Stone Age.
The more I think about it, the more ironic I find it.
