The first year I had my own apartment I decided to get a jump on things as far as setting up the tree was concerned but I didn't realize that it was extremely important to keep the tree from drying out.
Soooo, it did dry out, all the needles fell off and by the time Xmas came around, looked like something out of a Charlie Brown special.
Man, it was pathetic (and a fire hazard to boot) but I still thought it was great.
