Walden (the village) has a reputation of being the biggest trailer park in the world. It's not exactly the taj mahal. However, up here if you live in the town, your mailing address is from the village. The town of Montgomery is a very nice place, middle to upper middle class. Unfortunately, like parts of the city, the nicer parts are surrounded by rot.
I am sure that there are neighborhoods in NYC that because of the demographics have been the butt of jokes. This is no different.
