I know about that, and it is the one thing which holds me back from fully supporting him, but sometimes we have to realize that being a cop is not our entire being, and definitely not all that matters for the state. Legislation like that is brought up to prove a point. Sometimes, the person who initiates it even votes against it! I don't know all of the specifics on that one; I am not even sure if it was brought to a vote of the full legislature in NY (it probably wasn't), but like I said, in politics, my being a cop is not my main concern. If he initiates some change in Albany which has lasting effect, which so far he has started to do, then I will support him and maybe even vote for him next cycle.
