I served on the USS Tarawa myself for 6 months, and for those who never served aboard a ship as a sailor or marine, you missed out on some really great times, port of calls, westpacs or med floats.
Semper Fi.Dustoff, When I saw Westpac my first thought was Olongapo City. (76-77) CVN -65. Wow, The memories I have of that place.
Oh.. no.. Olongapo, Subic Bay, Baggio... the list goes on.. and the trobicin is running low!!! LOL.
