I am not at liberty to speak of things of which I do not know. At this point what I will say is this...Truck 11, I am sorry for your friend and for your loss. I understand your being angry at the situation. J girl, I don't know what happened with your friend. I do know that I waited a long time to be called for the training and was happy to be part of it. I have not found anyone at Poppa to be discourteous or disrespecful in my limited dealings with them. My sole goal in joining the organization was to give back and avail myself to a brother or sister officer who needs an ear and a direction at a time when they may, God forbid feel that they have none. I've been in that spot, before POPPA, and was lucky enough to have caring friends who didn't judge me or my problems. We are all not that lucky. Whatever their funding or financial issues are is not really my business. Quite frankly, the retiree program is a separate part of POPPA and I am not sure where the funding comes from, and I don't care. I wouldn't care if the money came from drug dealers as long as I knew it was going to the intended purpose, to help another cop.
