I read a book on Saddam Hussein. He was paranoid that one of his generals would turn on him and take him out.
Fidel Castro did the same thing. One of his main men mysteriously died in a plane crash. He was gaining fame and Castro got nervous. I think his name was Cienfuegos or something like that.
