I don’t think I have ever seen a beer machine (a pop machine that dispenses beer) any other place besides a navy base. We had them in the barracks. (Army) Whether you were 17 or 18 years old, it was all good.  185 and Third Ave. Mechanic shop. Young cop on his foot post is hot on a steamy summer day and spots a coke machine inside the garage. Slips a dollar in the machine and presses the coke button. Out pops an icy Budweiser. The shop goes silent as the mechanics wonder what the cop is gonna do. He pulled the tab and downed the beer, chucking the empty into a nearby garbage can, never looking back. I can still remember the laughter echoing from the shop. 😎 |
