Many an inspections dope has sent subpeonas to phone carriers to see GPS tracking info on cell phones of cops being investigated. The problem is, the subpeonas were never really valid because they were not search warrants signed by a judge. These Telecom giants just turn over data info without a real challenge or informing the owner of that cell phone, because they see an official letter head on top.
Its time we get a law passed stating that your personal info, the phones you call, and any other data related to that use is strictly your intellectual property, and you as the individual should be notified that an entity is requesting access to your information.
