When there is a lack of basic human freedoms, and total control over the media, and propaganda pumping out through commercials, music, sporting events, literature you can only assume that supremacy is the final product. The same as it was in 1930s Germany and italy. Same as the russians during the cold war. But the chinese have been playing the game much better than most, learning from their mistakes and perfecting control over a 1.3 billion people, soon to be 2 billion in 10 years time.
In order for communism to work, you have to lie to the people. You have to convince them that total dependency on the government is prosperous. The state is your God, and will provide for all your needs. No one, no deity, no philosophy can be elevated above the state. That is why communism is a paranoid delusional style of government. They will always see the enemy in anyone not like themselves, and practice forced "reeducation", displacement and murder if it is beneficial to the state.
In communism, the individual is obsolete. Like this Twilight Zone episode.
