Before globalism and outsourcing China had a large army but not much of a navy or Air force. Now they do. Before outsourcing countries had the manufacturing capacity to deal with emergencies. Now many don't.
This virus may well have killed globalism. The smarter move would have been to wait a yr until Nov 2020 and hope if Trump loses to Biden (who's already in their pocket) or maybe Clinton or some other D they already own or can easily buy.
Even if trump is reelected that only affects trade with America. This pandemic is going to screw up trade deals for China in many other places.
I think this virus got out accidently.
