I saw the video. That was horrible, unprofessional and inconsistent with being an officer with the constitutional power to take a life. How do you tell people to shut the fuck up before I smack the shit out of you. Suck a fat one, lick my balls, fuck you? and you aren't even engaged in physical combat. You are just using the PA on an empty street in an area known for halfway houses and SROs. Both cops were veterans, 20 yrs and 18 yrs respectively. They each have been on the job long enough to know how the job will jam you up. In this day and age where everything is recorded either with hardwire or wireless, how do you think your behavior plays out on the evening news? As a professional or as a complete asshole? Sorry to buck the prevailing feeling, but I find it very hard to let this slide because of "stress". They didnt have to say a thing from a pedestrian standing 40 feet away, while they were sequestered inside an RMP that could keep on driving. Its the stupid behavior thats hard to defend. No one forced them to engage that way. They were experienced enough to stay clear of that. I don’t disagree it was unprofessional. That was a stupid thing to do. I will not defend it nor even say that its remotely right in this universe. I will not use the “stress” excuse. They look like bullies doing that. But I do feel a 30 day suspension is harsh. What they are saying is that is equal to losing a prisoner. I don’t believe it is. I do feel an in house punishment, even highway therapy is more appropriate.
