For the past few years I have owed the IRS money after completing the yearly returns. Even though the money was transferred directly from my checking account to the IRS, they are depositing checks to those who had a direct deposit refund. I had to go here www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments, to register my checking account to receive the check. I did this today. You’re a fvcking Einstein, or I’m just a dope... I’m in the same situation as you, it’s been a while since I had a federal refund. I just assumed they would use the same banking information that payments were made to. Is there an option to add bank account info on the same page as the “get my payment” link? All I get there is from that link is “payment status not available “ I clicked on "get my payment" and was able to enter my direct deposit info.
